The atmosphere at the stadium is charged. The 61st Republic Day was being celebrated in this small town where Dr B R Ambedkar, the father of the Indian Constitution, was born in an Army family in the late 19th century. Generations in Mhow have looked forward to this day and have fond memories of the R Day parade in Garrison Ground.

St Mary's Convent Mhow led the march. They were the winners in the Senior Girls' section for best marching contingent.
