Down Memory Lane

St. Mary's Convent Mhow, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.

Session: 1968-69.

The boys of Class II with their class teacher Mrs. Dubey.

I am third from right in the second row. I had come on transfer from Mount St. Mary's Delhi Cantt where I had studied Class I and four months of Class II. But the sessions in Delhi used to be from January to December. And in Mhow they were from July to April. I have been told that boys were admitted to St. Mary's till the early eighties. They studied here till Class III. Those senior to me tell me that there was a time when boys studied here till Class VII.

My younger brothers have also studied in the same school. I studied here for two sessions. Class II (1968-69) and Class III (1969-70). For Class IV the boys shifted to Rajeshwar Vidyalaya (Sacred Hearts Convent). And I studied there for two sessions - Class IV (1970-71) and Class V (1971-72). We left Mhow after that as my father was transferred to Alwar (Rajasthan) and I shifted to Kendriya Vidyalaya (Central School) Alwar.

Ah... Mrs. Dubey!
She was our neighbor!!!

My mom and she were colleagues at St. Mary's.

My wife was born in Mhow and went to St Mary's Convent school there. She left 1968. We currently live in Australia and would love to be able to contact St Mary's Convent. Would anyone know the phone number/contact details or how we could get them?

Hi Bryan... Every now and then I receive a comment in my blog which gives me goosebumps... Your wife left Mhow and St. Mary's Convent in 1968... This was the year I arrived in Mhow for a four year period and joined St. Mary's Convent... If you want to write to the school their address is Post Office Road, Mhow, Indore, MP, 453441, India. The telephone number of the school is (07324)272002. You will have to prefix it with the ISD code for India. (91?)My email id is dev_kumar@rediffmail.com. Please feel free to write to me. I would like to interact with your wife and ask her some questions about the Mhow she saw. Regards Dev. 08 Jan 2009.
